House Passes Supplemental Hospital Offset Payment Bill
The Oklahoma House of Representatives passed the Supplemental Hospital Offset Payment bill, HB1381, Thursday with a 76-22 vote. The bill, also known as the hospital provider fee, would allow hospitals to pay the State share of Medicaid match in order to draw down additional Federal Medicaid dollars and ultimately support additional revenue to the hospitals. The emergency clause failed and a motion was made to reconsider the bill as an emergency measure.
Earlier this week, a legislative joint committee met and approved a measure to provide $15 million in supplemental funding from remaining Federal stimulus dollars for the Oklahoma Health Care Authority to keep the Medicaid program operational for the remainder of this State fiscal year ending June 30.
