Group Meets to Discuss Prescription Drug Abuse in Oklahoma

Last week, a group of representatives brought together by Rep. Richard Morrissette discussed prescription drug abuse in the state.  A presentation by Oklahoma State Department of Health showed that Oklahoma ranked number one in the country nonmedical use of pain relievers, and the state is one and a half times the national average for nonmedical use of these drugs.  Further, 22% of high school age individuals had used prescription drugs without medical directive.  The next meeting is planned for October at a date and time to be determined.
