Senate Interim Studies Approved, House Approvals Expected early July
The deadline to request interim studies was mid-June. President Pro Tem Bingman announced approval of 29 Interim Studies this week. Speaker Steele is expected to announce which of the House requested studies are approved in early July.
Studies approved this week include a study by Sen. Kim David - Wagoner regarding pseudoephedrine and protections to prevent the production of methamphetamines, and a study regarding breast cancer by Sen. Eason-McIntyre - Tulsa, and a study by Sen. Anthony Sykes – Moore regarding senior nutrition services reimbursement. Members of the House have requested studies about a large number of subjects including Medicaid waivers, competitive bidding of generic drugs for Medicaid, electronic prescribing, continuity of care and pharmaceuticals, taxpayer funding of abortion promoting groups, pseudoephedrine, insurance coverage parity of chemotherapy drugs, prescribing and reporting methods related to pain management, statutory changes related to health insurance purchasing groups, worker’s compensation and risk management practices, nursing home care, immigration reform, E-Verify System and employers, and health and fitness in schools.
