As OPCA Director of
Communications, Jeff is responsible for
promoting the good work OPCA members do
every day. He manages the
association's Video
Production Services, coordinates Outreach &
Enrollment for the state's community
health centers, and hosts the Oklahoma Health
Improvement Partnership, a broad based
public-private partnership working to
improve the health care system for
Oklahomans. The Communications
Division also includes Office of
Workforce & Clinical Affairs and
Oklahoma's participation in the National
Health Disparities Collaborative.
Jeff came to OPCA in 2001 with over seven years’ experience in health care,
primarily in government-funded settings. He worked
as
the physician
recruiter for the Midwest’s largest emergency medicine physician staffing company, recruiting for 32 hospital-based emergency departments in four states. Prior to this, Jeff
worked for the Iowa Medicaid Program’s fiscal agent as a provider liaison and managed care
representative, where he trained more than 1500 providers on appropriate billing and coding
practices. His first foray into health
care was as Communications Specialist for the Michigan Peer Review
Organization, working in a public affairs capacity for Michigan’s
federally-contracted Medicare overseer.
Jeff holds a Master of Arts degree from Wayne State University with an emphasis in
Organizational Communication. His Bachelor’s degree, from Eastern Michigan University,
is for a double-major in Public Relations and Telecommunications & Film
with a minor in
Marketing. Born and raised in Texas, Jeff came to Oklahoma to be near family and friends. |
