DESCRIPTION:Community Health Worker Training – Registration Open for Cohort #5: OKPCA will host an eight-week training course for CHWs.\nSchedule:\n\n6/3: Session 1: Orientation (Virtual)\n6/10-11: Session 2: Foundations, Motivational Interviewing, and Toolbox (In-Person in OKC)\n6/24: Session 3: Disease State – Heart Failure (Virtual)\n7/8: Session 4: Disease State – Diabetes (Virtual)\n7/22: Session 5: Disease State – Depression (Virtual)\n8/5: Session 6: Competency Assessments (Virtual)\n8/19: Optional Supervisor Training (Supervisors only)\n\nCHWs, care coordinators, enrollment staff, and other care team members interested in providing CHW services are eligible to apply to participate in the training program. Attendance in the in-person sessions is required. Up to one virtual session can be viewed asynchronously, but participation in all sessions is required to sit for the competency exam. Stipends are not available for this cohort, but participants will a receive CHW toolkbox including a blood pressure cuff and a glucometer with test strips.\nRegister today!
