Joseph Denney, RN - Chief Health Information Officer
Joseph has a wide range of experience in his 20 plus year career in information technology. He combines his IT experience with training and direct patient care as a Registered Nurse working in critical care.
His roles in IT include time as a network engineer, a consultant for a Fortune 500 IT consulting firm, a successful database developer, and as CIO of a non-profit with over 900 employees. For the last several years he has owned his IT consulting company, Forked Pine, LLC. His client engagements include multiple membership organizations where he provided database consulting, general IT management, and project management. He also worked with the Health Alliance for the Uninsured, where he built and maintained a shared clinical data repository for 12 free clinics in Oklahoma City, including connecting those clinics to outside data sources and networks.
Joseph has a particular interest in and passion for using data to help improve health outcomes. He has worked with state leaders in health information exchange for over six years in Oklahoma. He has spoken at many national conferences for various software vendors, including the national CareScope users group, and has taught multiple training sessions on a wide variety of IT and business management topics.
Joseph received his Bachelors of Arts degree from the University of Oklahoma and his master's degree in Data Science from Southern Methodist University.
