Cassidy Heit, MPA – Director of Communications & Strategic Initiatives
Cassidy advocates for Oklahoma patients and community health centers by managing OKPCA’s external and internal communications and leading several key initiatives. She is responsible for developing public policy pieces related to community health centers; creating maps and data visualizations; publishing our newsletter and other print and social media; analyzing regulatory affairs; overseeing outreach and enrollment efforts; and lobbying to broaden primary care access in Oklahoma. She oversees the Delta for a Thriving Safety Net project in collaboration with the Oklahoma Behavioral Health Association.
Before joining OKPCA in October 2015, Cassidy served two-terms as an AmeriCorps member managing a nonprofit tutoring program in Norman, OK. She was also a Graduate Research Fellow at the Oklahoma Policy Institute, where she researched and contributed policy pieces for the nonprofit think tank.
Cassidy graduated magna cum laude from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in Economics and a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Public Policy. She has a Certificate in Executive Healthcare Leadership from Cornell and has been recognized as a 2018 NextGen Under 30 Awardee and as a Distinguished Master of Advocacy by the National Association of Community Health Centers.
